FEDHASA has praised President Ramaphosa’s commitment to enhancing South Africa’s tourism sector through infrastructure investment and visa reform. The announcement during SONA 2025 that a fully digitised electronic travel authorisation system could be implemented within the year is seen as a promising development. This system aims to eliminate corruption, improve processing times, and reduce barriers to entry, marking a potential turning point for the industry.
National Chairperson Rosemary Anderson stated, “Visa reforms, combined with increased flight connectivity and aggressive destination marketing, reinforce the President’s message that South Africa is open for business and tourism.”

According to a statement issued, FEDHASA highlighted the importance of reliable water and electricity supply for the success of the tourism and hospitality sectors. The organisation views the President’s commitment to addressing these infrastructure issues as vital for boosting international confidence and enabling industry growth.
Encouraged by the State of the Nation Address, FEDHASA intends to collaborate closely with government and industry stakeholders to sustain momentum and position South Africa as a top travel destination globally.
