Guvon Academy, based in Roodepoort, offers three year learning programmes in Hospitality and Catering as well as Tourism, each of which are endorsed both locally and internationally. The Academy carries accreditation as a Skills Development Provider by the Quality Council for Traders and Occupations (QCTO), and also has an international accreditation with the Confederate of Tourism and Hospitality in the UK and the Chartered Institute of Tourism and Hospitality.

The Academy’s learning programmes have been designed to offer candidates the skills and knowledge to be successful in the world of Tourism, Hospitality and Cheffing.
Nationally accredited qualifications include the National Diplomas (on completion of N4-N6 theoretical, practical and workplace components) in Hospitality and Catering, as well as Tourism. For aspiring chefs they also offer the QCTO Occupational Certificate: Chef (Level 5) qualification.
The Academy’s three-year-long courses include theoretical and practical lectures at the campus, including work-place learning at one of the designated Guvon Hotels and Spas properties for the duration of the learning programme selected. Monitored work-place experience ensures candidates receive the necessary “real world” training which is desperately required by employers and industry leaders.
A range of programmes are offered to supplement the national qualifications and thus allowing candidates to achieve their hospitality, tourism and chef dreams.

- Level 2 Basic Programme in Culinary Skills;
- Level 3 Foundation Programme in Professional Cookery;
- Level 3 Intermediate Programme in Professional Cookery;
- Level 4 Upper Intermediate Programme in Professional Culinary Arts;
- Level 3 Foundation Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management;
- Level 4 Undergraduate Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management;
- Level 5 Advanced Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
