The upcoming editions of Decorex Cape Town (5–8 June) and Joburg (24–27 July) will feature an expanded culinary programme that integrates food, design, and technology. Organised by RX Africa, the events will present a range of curated food-related experiences aimed at both trade visitors and consumers, with interactive demos, café installations, and kitchen showcases forming part of the broader exhibition landscape.
Cooking Studio Presented by @home
This year’s Cooking Studio, supported by homeware retailer @home, will offer live demonstrations in an interactive kitchen space curated by Food Jams and constructed by Cami Space + Design. The demos will be powered by cookware and appliances from @home and Samsung, with ingredients supplied via Mr D deliveries sourced from Pick n Pay’s online offering.
The live cooking sessions are included in the general admission ticket and will follow a scheduled programme, available on the free Decorex Africa app for both Apple and Android. Seating is unreserved.
Rialheim Café – Cape Town Only
Exclusive to the Cape Town edition, the Rialheim Café will showcase locally designed ceramic and tile elements integrated into the café’s interiors. This installation highlights the intersection of artisanal design and hospitality, with an emphasis on texture, materiality, and South African craftsmanship.
The Line Avenue Bar
A reimagined take on the traditional exhibition bar concept, The Line Avenue Bar is designed by Krineshen Reddy of Shalom Interiors. The installation is divided into two contrasting design environments separated by a central gold seam, offering visitors a spatial experience defined by light, material, and sound. The structure incorporates repurposed materials from previous hospitality projects, aligning with current sustainability practices in exhibition design.
Living with Blum: Kitchen Design Showcase
Following a national design competition in partnership with Blum South Africa, three winners—Unique Kitchens, RF Designs, and MCE Cupboards—were selected to build kitchen showcases for the Cape Town event. These displays will highlight the use of Blum fittings and are supported by product contributions from Uni-Panel, Franke, Caesarstone, EeziQuartz, Infinity, and Lutum.
Both Decorex shows will feature a broader selection of kitchen design and manufacturing exhibitors, providing a comprehensive platform for trade professionals and consumers focused on high-end, functional kitchen solutions.
