< 1 min

From the 1st of November, Oldenburg Vineyards in the Banghoek Valley will have a new winemaker – Nic van Aarde. Current General Manager and Winemaker, Philip Costandius, will be stepping down from his role, though he will continue to provide consultation services to Oldenburg in the future.

Adrian Vanderspuy, Proprietor of Oldenburg Vineyards, says: “It has been a pleasure working with Philip and I look forward to our continued collaboration in the future”.

Nic, who has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture (Oenology and Viticulture) and Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Stellenbosch University, has worked at various leading wineries in Stellenbosch. He has also spent time working in Australia, New Zealand, USA, France and India.

Oldenburg Vineyards are in the final stages of completing their new state of the art cellar and winemaking facilities, which will be commissioned by Nic for the 2019 harvest.

Adrian says: “It is an exciting time for the entire team, and the introduction of Nic into our new winery creates a tipping point for our business”.

Oldenburg Vineyards is situated between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, an off-the-beaten track wine farm with its vineyards surrounded by three mountain ranges, Groot Drakenstein, Jonkershoek and Simonsberg.
