Peter Tempelhoff, chef and partner of Greenhouse Restaurant, a proud Relais & Châteaux member, has been invited as the regional member of the Relais & Châteaux World Culinary Council. Tempelhoff will address his fellow council members about his vision for the region and world’s food scene. Only 19 Chefs, from the 740 restaurants in the Relais & Châteaux Association, have been invited to be part of the council; which takes place on the 4 and 5 of June in Paris.
Peter’s presentation will be from an African & Indian Ocean perspective but will have a more far reaching global significance, as it focuses on finding a means to elevate and protect the planet’s unique ingredients and their bio-diversity.
Comments Tempelhoff, “The diversity of each country’s ingredients and cultural flavours are the only thing separating chefs these days, it is up to us to acknowledge, respect and protect their uniqueness. My vision is to map out the viability of a Relais & Châteaux Unique Ingredient Database or Collection which can be used as a tool to explore the world’s indigenous flavours, unique tastes and culinary bio-diversity- while making a change for the good.”
