Set to launch in Menlyn this June, the Regency Apartment Hotel is a 220 suite, luxury lifestyle development for both residential and hotel needs. This is the first property that the hotel group has launched, with more properties planned.
The R350 million development is perfectly positioned for guests and residents’ easy access to the Menlyn node, and the luxury one and two bedroomed apartments have been fitted with all the mod-cons that make for a convenient stay.
“The impressive 220 suite development will cater to a mix of local and international professionals, investors, diplomats and embassy staff with different needs and requirements. Additional conferencing facilities are available for corporates on request. There is a growing demand for accommodation to cater to the busy Menlyn district and we have created the ideal offering,” says Siyanda Dlamini, MD of The Regency Hotel Group.
With a background in hotel operations, sales and marketing, Managing Director Siyanda Dlamini joined the The Regency Hotel Group at the beginning of February. We chatted with Siyanda to find out more about the development.
Why did you decide to offer a mix of residential and hotel apartments? Do you think that this will create a beneficial dynamic? The residential and apartment living mix is fast becoming the new norm. We wanted to be among the first to introduce the concept to the Pretoria Market as this trend is gaining in popularity.
Why the Menlyn area for your first hotel? Menlyn is a fast growing the business hub of Pretoria, with easy access to the all major highways and easy access to OR Tambo International Airport – it was fitting for us to buy here first, considering that this is where the opportunity availed itself first.
What are the hotel and room features and fittings that you’re particularly excited by? There are so many! No expense has been spared with each of the luxury apartments fitted with top quality finishes, including all kitchen appliances by Miele, the full DSTV channel compliment, centralised air-conditioning, a beautiful restaurant, bar, bespoke gym, high-end security with 24-hour surveillance and underground parking. There are also conference facilities and meeting rooms.
Which areas are you planning to move into next? We are planning several new hotels into a few SA locations, such as the Eastern Cape, as well as outside of our borders.
