The Franschhoek Open Gardens Festival will take place from 7-9 November 2025, inviting garden enthusiasts and visitors to explore ten private gardens across the valley.
The annual festival has become a highlight on the Franschhoek calendar, showcasing a mix of village gardens and expansive farm landscapes set against the region’s mountain backdrop. Highlights this year include Bagatelle de la Cotte, La Cotte Farm Garden, Farm Lorraine, Koko House, Villa Blanca and The Cow Shed, among others.
Running daily from 09h00 to 16h00, the event offers more than just floral inspiration. Visitors can enjoy tea and scones on the lawns, sample local wines and Cap Classiques, browse plant sales, and discover locally crafted goods inspired by the Cape’s flora. A programme of talks by growers, designers and horticulturalists will add further insights for those keen to learn.
The festival also contributes to the local community, with proceeds supporting Fleur de Lis Home for the Aged and Franschhoek Emergency Services. Tickets cost R250 per person for the full weekend and are available via Webtickets or from the NG Church Hall on Franschhoek’s Main Street. Children under 12 enter free, though pets are not permitted.
