Rockets Expands to Menlyn’s Time Square

< 1 min

Lifestyle dining brand Rockets has opened a new venue at Time Square in Menlyn, adding to its established locations in uMhlanga and Bryanston.

The Pretoria outlet continues Rockets’ approach of combining dining with entertainment, positioning itself as part of the growing trend of hybrid venues that serve as both restaurants and nightlife destinations. Its industrial-inspired interiors and rooftop bar provide the backdrop for a menu that ranges from artisanal pizzas and handmade pastas to seafood, sushi and flame-grilled prime cuts.

Signature items include inventive sushi such as the “crudo roses”, where sushi rice is wrapped in springbok carpaccio and finished with brie and blueberry pearls, alongside more familiar favourites like California rolls and sashimi. Pizzas and burgers also feature strongly, with combinations that highlight Rockets’ playful take on comfort dining. Sharing plates and platters cater to groups, while lighter options such as salads and bowls are intended to appeal to the daytime trade.

As with its other venues, Rockets Menlyn also places emphasis on entertainment, with regular DJ sets and live performances, supported by a comprehensive cocktail menu and late-night opening hours. The venue is open daily from 11h00, closing at 23h00 on Mondays and Tuesdays and as late as 02h00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
