Qatar Airways has announced a new culinary collaboration with French chef Yannick Alléno, known for his modern take on French cuisine and a portfolio of 17 Michelin stars across 19 restaurants in seven countries. The partnership will bring Alléno’s cuisine to the airline’s First and Business Class cabins, as well as selected airport lounges.
The airline will open a Pavyllon-branded restaurant in its First Class Lounge at Hamad International Airport in Doha, featuring Alléno’s “gastronomic counter” concept — a dining style where guests are seated directly in front of the open kitchen. New inflight menus will be introduced on select routes between Paris and Doha, and specially created dishes will also appear in the Qatar Airways lounge at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Chef Alléno said the partnership is aimed at creating a lasting impression for travellers through refined, ingredient-focused cuisine. Qatar Airways Chief Retail and Hospitality Officer Thabet Musleh said the collaboration reflects a shared focus on innovation and craftsmanship in hospitality.
In addition to global partnerships, the airline continues to engage regional talent. In South Africa, Qatar Airways works with Capsicum Culinary Academy to train emerging chefs. Traditional local dishes such as biltong beef soup and lamb potjie are regularly featured on board.
This latest move further expands Qatar Airways’ efforts to integrate high-end culinary experiences into its premium offering, both in the air and on the ground.
