Decorex Joburg to Explore the Future of Living at July 2025 Edition

< 1 min

Johannesburg will once again play host to one of the continent’s most significant design events as Decorex Joburg returns to the Sandton Convention Centre from 24 to 27 July 2025. Spanning five exhibition halls and featuring over 300 exhibitors, the event is positioned as a key moment in the annual African design calendar.

This year’s theme, The Future of Living, places emphasis on how African designers are reimagining contemporary living spaces. The event will explore the intersection of tradition, technology, and innovation, showcasing how the design community is responding to changing lifestyles and urban dynamics.

Creative Directors Alan Hayward and Garreth van Niekerk have curated pavilions that examine the influence of design on future societies. The programme will include a series of talks that explore the evolving role of design in shaping daily life and broader cultural shifts.

Running alongside Decorex Africa is 100% Design Africa, a platform that blends physical displays with digital storytelling. This hybrid format, referred to as “phygital,” reflects the growing trend of integrating technology into both design and exhibition experiences.

Since its inception in 1994, Decorex has evolved into a hub for designers, architects, and creatives to showcase new work and exchange ideas. The 2025 edition aims to highlight developments in furniture design, product innovation, and the increasing role of digital tools in the design process.

Event Details:
Dates: 24–27 July 2025
Times: Thursday to Sunday, 10:00–18:00
