The hotel’s ground-floor restaurant underwent a revamp in 2016, and is looking more than ready to welcome the many guests expected to visit Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront this summer. The revamp was conducted by Peerutin Architects, who upgraded the hotel’s reception area as well the restaurant. Now the restaurant, situated at the water’s edge, commands stunning views across the Waterfront to Table Mountain.
By opening up the restaurant, the interior is airy and inviting, and the buzzing atmosphere of the V&A Waterfront is brought closer to guests. Decor includes organic textures in wood and stone, a natural colour palette, metal accents and ambient lighting. With its new look, the restaurant will be encouraging guests to linger over tea and cake, sundowners or snacks, or the popular Rustic Roast on Sundays. For those wanting an on-the-go meal or coffee, the Native Espresso Bar within the restaurant offers takeaway coffees and baguettes.
