Jennifer Hugé, La Colombe’s Front of House Manager and the recipient of the 2016 Eat Out John Psillos Award for Outstanding Contribution to Service, will be leaving the Constantia restaurant and heading to the Cape Town CBD. Jennifer will be pursuing a new restaurant venture which is set to open in the next couple of weeks.
Says Proprietor Chef of La Colombe, Scot Kirton, “We have been privileged to have Jennifer with us for the last decade, as she has been an instrumental part of driving La Colombe to become what it is today. She will be sorely missed, and our entire team wishes her all the very best in her new venture.”
Jennifer Hugé first joined the team as a waitress while Franck Dangereux was heading up the restaurant. She quickly moved to relief maître d’ position, and then to front-of-house manager. During her time at La Colombe, she was well-known for not only her warm and welcoming presence, but also her attention to detail and her food and wine pairings. She also tutored many new members of the La Colombe team, including current Head sommelier Joseph Dhafana.
