Chef David Higgs to release first cookbook: Mile 8

< 1 min

Running from Swakopmund’s Post Office up North for 108 miles, Namibia’s coastline is dotted with mile markers. Mile 8 has special significance for Chef David Higgs. The well-known chef personality, co-owner of Marble restaurant and co-presenter of My Kitchen Rules grew up along this coastline and caught his first fish at Mile 8 – this is where his food journey began.

Chef David Higg’s first cookbook takes us from the coastal Namibian town of Walvis Bay to the kitchens of Cape Town in the 90s, to South Africa’s winelands and finally to Marble Restaurant in the vibrant heart of Johannesburg.

The beautifully illustrated book features over 90 dishes and 150 recipes influenced by Higgs’ career and bringing together the unique and interesting flavours of Southern Africa. Some of the recipes include Impala Tartare, Snoek & Apricot, Amadumbe & Chakalaka, and his version of the classic Malva Pudding.

Mile 8 will be available from leading national book retailers from October 2018 and will be priced at approximately R550. Pre-orders of a minimum of 10 copies can be made via the Marble website – www.marble.restaurant – for the special price of R450. For pre-orders, please contact Stef Garone stef@marble.restaurant
