< 1 min

From 3 to 5 October 2025, the town of Porterville will host its eighth Art For All weekend, transforming into an open-air gallery with exhibitions, workshops, food markets, and new outdoor events. Located 150 km from Cape Town at the foot of the Olifants River Mountains, Porterville has become a regular stop on the Western Cape’s cultural calendar.

The programme features more than 40 artists across 11 venues, including the Dutch Reformed Church, Youth Hall, the library, private studios, and local farms. Exhibitions cover painting, ceramics, pottery, photography, jewellery, textiles, and sculpture. Studios are open Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00 and Sunday from 09:00 to 14:00. Entry is free, and visitors are encouraged to engage directly with the artists.

Food and drink are part of the draw, with markets, bazaars, tea gardens, and stalls dotted around town. Houdconstant Farm again hosts a market and tea garden, and workshops offer hands-on experiences such as Sip & Klei pottery sessions, painting gatherings, and cyanotype printing.

A new addition for 2025 is the Porterville Gravel Race on Saturday, 4 October, featuring three cycling routes: 100 km, 60 km, and 35 km, alongside a 13 km trail run and a 25 km hike. Registration takes place on Friday evening at the showgrounds, followed by a pasta dinner, with prize-givings on Saturday.

Accommodation options range from guesthouses and self-catering cottages to farm stays and camping at Beaverlac, making it easy for visitors to extend their stay.

Art For All runs from Friday 3 October to Sunday 5 October. Full programme details, artist listings, and accommodation information are available via Bergrivier Tourism.
