ULTRA South Africa is preparing for its 10th-anniversary edition, which is set to take place in Cape Town and Johannesburg next month. The event will kick off in Cape Town on Friday, 9 May 2025, at The Ostrich, followed by a performance at Johannesburg’s Expo Centre at Nasrec on Saturday, 10 May 2025.
The milestone event is poised to be one of the biggest editions of the festival to date, with an extensive lineup featuring international and local talent. ULTRA South Africa has grown into a major fixture on the continent’s music calendar, drawing thousands of fans and some of the world’s biggest electronic music stars each year.
This year’s anniversary edition features an impressive lineup, including Armin van Buuren, ISOxo, and KSHMR, alongside a return performance by Martin Garrix, who headlined the very first ULTRA South Africa in 2014. The RESISTANCE Stage will showcase acts such as Massano, Mind Against, and South African legend Shimza.
The festival’s support lineup includes major local artists like Gil Glaze, Culoe de Song, Da Capo, and DBN GOGO. Johannesburg will feature two additional stages: The Groove Room, focusing on Amapiano and Afrobeats, and The Clubhouse, offering a more intimate space with emerging electronic artists.
ULTRA South Africa Organiser Shaun Duwe reflected on the festival’s decade-long journey: “This anniversary celebrates resilience, community, and culture. We’ve built something extraordinary, and the 2025 edition will be a landmark event for the entire dance music movement in Africa.”
