South Africa’s premier hospitality school, the IIE School of Hospitality & Service Management (IIE HSM) will hold an Open Day on Saturday, October 26 from 09h00 to 12h00 at each of the school’s two campuses – Newlands in Cape Town and Rosebank in Johannesburg

IIE HSM, which aims to address the ever increasing need for service, hospitality and customer-centric education, from entry-level to management-level qualifications, currently runs eight different courses including:

• Bachelor of Service Management. A full-time, three year course curated to develop students into effective service managers within various industries.
• Diploma in Foodservice Management & Nutrition. A three year contact and online course to develop business acumen in the food service industry, focusing on expert knowledge of nutrition and food and beverage management, with business skills perfected through a practical focus on food service law, business comms and project management.
• Higher Certificate in Hospitality Management. This course will provide students with operational, interpersonal and analytical skills to fill entry level positions in the hospitality industry.
• Bachelor of Hospitality Management. A three-year degree enabling graduates to practise and demonstrate responsibility and initiative, through Work Integrated Learning (WIL) modules, for employment in the private and public sectors.
• Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Leadership Distance. An 18-month online qualification for experienced hospitality professionals who want to specialise in hospitality leadership and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
• Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Management. A one year on-campus course (or 18 months online) to equip learners with a coherent and encompassing understanding of management principles and how these apply to hospitality operations.
• Higher Certificate in Event Management. Aone year course that prepares graduates to coordinate and manage a wide range of events in a professional manner and equip them with the skills to plan, organise and execute events in various industries and sectors.
• Higher Certificate in Travel. A full-time, NQF Level 5 qualification, leading to a career in one of the most vibrant industries globally. (Currently offered at the Rosebank campus only.)
