Picnics are one of the best way to enjoy the glorious summer weather, and Grande Provence offers a relaxed country-style picnic under the oaks. The Franschhoek wine estate’s executive chef Guy Bennett has created a decadent spread for the Grand Country Picnic Basket that’s on offer.
Inside the basket you’ll find artisanal cheeses, locally sourced charcuterie, mushroom & feta quiche, smoked Franschhoek trout parfait, house-made preserves, olives & roasted nuts, freshly baked bread, a crisp estate garden salad, and decadent Valrohna chocolate brownies. These are all accompanied by a bottle of Grande Provence wine.
The Grand Country Picnic basket is priced at R580 for two people sharing, or R325 for a single basket. They’re weather dependent and available until the 30th of April, with limited baskets available each day. For bookings, call (021) 876 8600 at least a day in advance.
