La Petite Ferme’s Chef and the Vine series

< 1 min

La Petite Ferme has been making the most of the cold winter months with a series of Chef and the Vine dinners. Each monthly dinner celebrates a different cultivar, with La Petite Ferme winemaker Wikus Pretorius collaborating with the restaurant’s chefs.

The series of events kicked off in May and will run until August, and each is presented by Wikus and includes a tutored pre-dinner tasting of that event’s chosen cultivar. La Petite Ferme’s wine will be tasted and compared with others from nearby terroirs as well as afar, presenting a wonderful opportunity to compare different expressions and the effects of terroir and winemaking techniques.

The May and June events focused on Viognier and Chardonnay respectively, and the 26th July dinner will be dedicated to the ‘King of Reds’ Cabernet Sauvignon. The final event on the 23rd of August features Cape and red blends, with La Petite Ferme’s champion wine Verdict in the tasting lineup.

The evenings are priced at R750 and include a four-course menu, canapes and Méthode Cap Classique. Reservations are limited, keeping the events intimate and personal, and bookings are essential.
