At the recent World Travel Awards, Leeu Estates was named South Africa’s Leading Wine Country Hotel for the second year in a row. The announcement was made at a ceremony in Durban where all the African winners were celebrated. The World Travel Awards is in its 25th year of showcasing excellence in the international hospitality sector, with properties voted for by travel and tourism professionals as well as travellers from around the world.
Leeu Estates is the flagship property of the Leeu Collection, which was founded by Analjit Singh and comprises properties in Franschhoek, the United Kingdom and Italy. Leeu Estates opened in 2016 and is a boutique property set on just under 100 hectares of vineyards, gardens and fynbos.
Features of the property include the Leeu Spa, Indaba – The Meeting Place, a multi-purpose event and meeting venue, and The Wine Studio, an immersive wine experience led by the Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines team.
“Our thanks to World Travel Awards for this honour, which pays testament to the dedication of the entire team at Leeu Estates,” says Analjit Singh. “They have worked extremely hard to turn the property into a world-class hotel in the two years since it opened and this award celebrates their achievements, proving that all our effort has been worthwhile.”
