La Montagne Resort Hotel & Spa, one of the First Group properties and based on KZN’s Dolphin Coast, is currently undergoing a R70 million transformation. “The refurbishment is already underway with an initial R8 million spent last year and a further R62 million allocated over the next four years. We believe that this investment will further cement La Montagne as a first-choice destination for holidaymakers seeking the ultimate experience in luxurious accommodation with top-notch amenities and family entertainment,” said Tim Spencer, Hotel Director for First Group.

Refurbishments will include a revamped reception area and check-in experience, a brand-new retail facility, and all 118 terraced apartments are getting a new modern look and feel.  Each room will receive sliding patio doors, stylish furniture, vinyl wooden flooring, downlighters, and recessed LED lighting. The air conditioning systems will also receive a refurb, and will be semi-ducted and concealed. USB ports will be added to all wall sockets, and high speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

La Montagne was originally developed 45 years ago  as an all-suite hotel, and in 1984 was converted to a timeshare resort with a hotel component. “This refurbishment marks a new chapter for La Montagne, which we are very excited about. The resort has a longstanding reputation of delivering quality vacations that families look forward to each year, and this project will ensure that La Montagne continues to stand out as the choice destination on the KZN north coast,” concluded Spencer.
