Four Seasons The Westcliff’s spectacular sundowner deck is the perfect space to enjoy the hotel’s winter special – three different types of fondue, topped off with decadent hot chocolate poured tableside. The deck, with an incredible view over Johannesburg, is decked out with fire pits and cosy blankets, and the special will be running from Thursday – Sunday, 16h00 – 19h00 until the 31st of July. Reservations are essential.

Three unique fondues, created by Four Seasons The Westcliff’s team of chefs, include a Classic Cheese (Fontina & Gruyere) – with rosemary and garlic croutons, vegetable crudité, artichoke, broccolini, confit tomato and asparagus at R295 per person. The second fondue option is the Carnivore Fondue (Oxtail Consommé) – Angus beef fillet, veal noche, chicken fillet, portobellini mushrooms, pomme de pont neuf and broccolini are poached in a rich, meaty oxtail consommé, with cognac pepper, horseradish and chimichurri dipping sauces on the side. The Chinese Fondue includes farmed seabass, Norwegian salmon, Queen prawns, calamari, Kenyan beans and Shitake mushrooms, poached in a shellfish fumet, with Sambal Oelek, Vietnamese and peanut sauce dipping sauces, also at R395 per person. Both the Chinese and Carnivore fondues cost R395 per person. Each fondue has been created for a minimum of four guests.

To finish off the evening in style, handcrafted, imported Belgian hot chocolate created by Pastry Chef Leon Cronje will be poured tableside. A decadent, delicious special that’s sure to coax Joburgers out of their homes!
