Towering above Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, the Silo Hotel has been built over six floors in the grain elevator section of what was once a grain silo. Part of the Royal Collection and a unique blend of heritage and contemporary, the hotel is a stunning addition to the Cape Town hospitality industry.
The grain silo was originally built in the 1920s and mixing heritage with contemporary art and design is no easy feat, but Liz Biden’s eclectic style adds liveliness to the building’s interior which contrasts the industrial exterior.
The hotel has just 28 rooms spread across the hotel, ranging from four Silo Rooms (41m²) and seven Deluxe Superior Suites (60-67m²), to two Royal Suites (132m²) and one Penthouse (211m²). Each has their own balcony and are individually designed with colourful fabrics and pieces. The rooms are generously tall to feature the incredible pillowed window bays which highlight the exquisite views across Cape Town’s features.
Headed up by Chef Veronica Canha-Hibbert, the Silo Hotel has three Food & Beverage outlets: the Granary Café, the Willaston Bar, and the Rooftop Bar.
