Dunkin’ Donuts SA is expanding its footprint in the heart of Cape Town’s vibrant city centre. The world’s favourite, high quality coffee and range of donuts will soon be available to guests on the corner of Plein and Spin Street. The sixth restaurant – and second to open in the Mother City’s CBD – is part of the brand’s ongoing expansion programme across South Africa and opened on Tuesday, 7 March 2017.
“We’ll also be introducing our first ‘Happy Hours’, a Thursday special which offers all guests a free coffee between 8am and 10am for the month of March. That’s two whole hours of the day where guests can get a free cup of quality 100% Arabica 8oz Original Blend Coffee and there is no need to purchase another item off the menu to qualify,” says Rozanna Kader, Director of Marketing and Strategy for Dunkin’ Donuts.
She adds that this particular launch combines the Cape’s love of coffee with its appreciation for art. “We have commissioned a unique mural outside the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant by local up-and-coming artist, Mo.Fok to reveal on launch day. Guests are invited to enjoy a cup of coffee for a dose of positive energy and watch him bring his artistic vision to life.”
Rozanna explains that while this will be the second Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant to open in the bustling CBD, the new restaurant’s location – which is within walking distance from the Cape Town railway station – was strategically selected to refuel on the go Capetonians.
