Shishangeni, operated by BON Hotels and located on  a 15 000 hectare private concession in the Kruger National Park, has re-opened its Camp Shawu following a refurbishment.

The refurbishment includes a new walkway to the refurbished pool and pool deck. Camp Shawu is named after a famous elephant, and can accommodate 10 guests in 5 African-inspired rooms. Each of the rooms, which has walls built with buffalo dung, overlook the Mpanamana dam which makes for excellent game viewing.  Walkways lead to the pool area and dining room with unfettered views of the Kruger Park, its game, flora and fauna.

All rooms include:

  • Balcony with a spacious wooden deck, perfect for game-viewing
  • Recliner Chairs and Umbrella
  • Charming Lounge Area
  • Fireplace
  • Ball and Claw Baths
  • Outside Shower
  • Bathrobe
  • Ceiling fan

Shishangeni comprises three camps:  Shishangeni Private Lodge, Camp Shonga and Camp Shawu, each with a different experience for guests.
