Eat Out has announced the 20 nominees for its annual Top 10 Awards. These are:

  • Camphors at Vergelegen
  • Chefs Warehouse & Canteen
  • DW Eleven-13
  • Foliage
  • Greenhouse
  • Hartford House
  • Indochine
  • Jordan Restaurant
  • The Kitchen at Maison
  • La Colombe
  • Nobu
  • Overture
  • Pierneef à La Motte
  • The Pot Luck Club

  • The Test Kitchen

The judges, who visited restaurants anonymously, were revealed as David Higgs from Marble Restaurant and Carianne Wilkinson from Silwood School of Cookery. Both judges worked together with chief judge Abigail Donnelly. Says Abigail: “The outstanding restaurants celebrated this year show a clever combination of consistency, evolution and playfulness. Rock ’n roll dishes have been created by these stars of the food world. The line-up, which includes regulars, reappearances and new names, proves that it’s not about trends, but rather about pure dedication.”

The top 10, as well as the recipients of awards which include the Nederburg Rising Star, Lannice Snyman Lifetime Achievement, Woolworths Sustainability, Retail Capital New Restaurant and Boschendal Style Awards, will be announced at the awards ceremony in Cape Town on the 20th of November.
