Burger King opens first branch in Port Elizabeth

< 1 min

Port Elizabeth residents had their hamburger cravings satisfied when the first BURGER KING® South Africa restaurant in the Eastern Cape opened its doors. The restaurant is located at the Sasol service station on 92 Pickering Street, Port Elizabeth and is a joint initiative with Sasol franchisee, Joe Thompson.  It has drive-thru and eat-in facilities, and will operate Sunday to Thursday from 09:00 – 22:00 and Friday – Saturday from 09:00 – 23:00.

Thompson, along with BURGER KING® South Africa operations representative, Anthony Brown and Grand Foods Development Director, Belinda Petersen were on hand to welcome the PE crowd.  Scores of locals, including pupils from the Cotswold Primary School, sunk their teeth into some of the first WHOPPERS® in the province.

The burger giant now has restaurants in six provinces, including Western Cape, Gauteng, Durban, North West, Mpumalanga and Eastern Cape.
