Veronica Hibbert
Executive Chef, Ellerman House


Veronica started as an apprentice at The Mount Nelson under Garth Stroebel. She then left to work in several five star establishments in the UK. In 2008 she moved back to Cape Town and started at Ellerman House. We managed to ask Veronica some brief questions about the industry:

What do you think the industry should focus on?
Focus on training Chefs to find ways to really make dishes their own.

What is your feel for the market?
The industry is on par with anywhere else in the world. It’s a growing industry that I am happy to be part of.

Your favourite supplier and why?
I love all my suppliers but especially Wild Peacock because they can prettty much find anything I want.

How would you describe your signature style?
Modern European.
